However, when I try to actually boot from the thumb drive via pressing alt key during startup , I get to choose which drive to boot from, I select the USB and then it tries to load. And the nothing happens, I need to force-reboot…. I have the same problem. After restart, the system never give me a chance to boot from USB at all. Can any one please give me help. I was able to get a Mountain Lion image onto a thumb drive, and will use it for future. OK… so I made a bootable flash drive with the installer.
